I am beyond excited to announce that I will be joining the 35th Edition of the Book Festival of the Marcus Jewish Community Center of Atlanta (MJCCA) on Friday, November 20, 2026, at 11:00 AM for a very special Flower Energy experience.
And the wonderful news? More than 77 guests have already registered for my event!
As I continue traveling across the country sharing my book, Flower Energy: Channeling the Healing Power of Blooms, published by Hachette Book Group’s Running Press, I am continually reminded of the extraordinary connections that flowers create between people.
What began as a dream of sharing the emotional and energetic language of flowers has grown into a journey of meeting beautiful communities, teaching floral design, and inspiring others to discover the power of nature.
Atlanta is the next exciting chapter!
From My Flower Shop in Redondo Beach to the Atlanta Book Festival
My floral journey began more than 31 years ago, and I founded Magical Blooms in 1999 with just $500, determination, and an enormous love for flowers.
Today, I am grateful to share my experiences as a floral designer, entrepreneur, author, and creator of The Flower Doctor philosophy.
My book, Flower Energy: Channeling the Healing Power of Blooms, explores something I have believed throughout my career: flowers are more than beautiful decorations.
Every flower has a story.
Every color creates a feeling.
Every arrangement becomes an opportunity to connect with ourselves, nature, and one another.
And now I get to bring this philosophy to Atlanta!
Create Your Own Floral Centerpiece With Jenny Barker
At the 35th MJCCA Book Festival, guests will participate in an interactive flower-arranging workshop where I will personally guide them through creating their own beautiful floral centerpiece.
This experience is about much more than learning how to arrange flowers.
It is an opportunity to slow down, become creative, explore botanical textures and colors, and discover the personal meanings we can associate with individual blooms.
During our time together, I look forward to sharing my approach to floral design, flower energy, and creating arrangements with intention.
Guests will leave with a beautiful centerpiece they personally designed and created.
All floral supplies are included with the workshop ticket.
Whether you are an experienced flower enthusiast or have never designed an arrangement before, this experience is for you.
The Healing Language of Flowers
One of my favorite parts of teaching flower workshops is sharing the symbolism of individual flowers.
In my Flower Energy philosophy, I explore meanings such as:
• Chamomile: Releasing anxiety and welcoming calm.
• Hydrangeas: Communication, understanding, and emotional connection.
• Roses: Love and living from a heart-centered place.
• Passiflora: Reflection, tranquility, and spiritual connection.
• Mint: Renewal, freshness, and positive energy.
• Rosemary: Remembrance, clarity, and intention.
These botanical meanings are part of the personal and symbolic approach I share through my book and workshops.
I believe that arranging flowers can become a wonderful ritual for reconnecting with ourselves and appreciating the natural world.
Celebrating Community Through the Jewish Book Council Tour
Being selected to participate in the Jewish Book Council’s national author touring program has been an extraordinary honor.
As I travel to new cities sharing Flower Energy, I have the privilege of meeting readers, flower enthusiasts, and communities who welcome me with warmth and curiosity.
The Jewish community has been such an important part of my personal journey, and being able to connect with people through books, flowers, and storytelling makes this tour especially meaningful.
The MJCCA Book Festival is a wonderful celebration of literature, creativity, education, and community.
I am thrilled to be included in its 35th edition.
I also learned that the festival brochure is distributed to approximately 18,000 homes throughout metro Atlanta. What an incredible opportunity to introduce even more people to the world of Flower Energy!
